Australia's Great Southern region is particularly well-suited for turning out sublime Shiraz-style wines, and deliciously spicy Plantagenet Shiraz screams that with every sip! It's a wine harmonious in all its elements that expresses a clear sense of place – in this case, four of Plantagenet's promising vineyards in the Mount Barker area. Juicy ripe cherry and blackberry on the nose, cloaked with hints of chocolate-dipped vanilla biscuit. Underlying spicy, tobacco and mineral notes. A sumptuous, perfectly textured palate with layered complexity and long flavours of berries coated, with a bit of cigar box and lingering spicy chocolate and liquorice. Excellent depth of flavour and structure; this wine has the benefit of time in the bottle and careful cellaring. Try it with some juicy lamb skewers or big bowl of rare beef pho!

Here's how to interpret the ratings (in case you were wondering what's that number below the price). If you don't see a rating, it doesn't mean the wine is any less yummy. At the end of the day, wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared.
