Anima Negra – a project sparked by a tipsy banter – is one of the most famous wine producers in Mallorca. Region known for making local wines, two friends, Pere Obrador and Miquelangel Cerdà decided to do the same but better. Using old local grape varieties and old large milk tanks, they learned the art of winemaking. Soon, they bought a 13th Century farmhouse at Son Burguera and converted it into a new bodega – Anima Negra. The duo team is renowned for taking local varieties like Callet and creating fruity and elegant wines we see today. So much so the other wine producers follow suit in planting and celebrating Callet and other indigenous varieties of Mallorca!
