ArtiSons Villain Vines Carignan 2022 is a wine with a storied history! It all began with the "villian" who mixed Carignan “stokkies” in with Shiraz vines when planted in the 1970s: isolated in a corner, the Carignan was left alone, unloved – until now! Today, this wine delivers great fruit expression of terroir, reflecting how to grape find a perfect home in the region. Its dense, dark core of crushed blueberry and spice on the nose carries over to the palate in delightful ways, with additional flavours of black cherry and soft cedar undertones. Like velvet on the palate! Delicious with tuna sashimi (don't forget the wasabi!) or lovely with oven-roasted rack of lamb.
