This cuvée of Champagne Charlie was released in line with Charles Heidsieck's bicentennial, celebrating 200 years of fine sparkling! The iconic wine celebrates the journey founder Charles (aka Charlie!) took from France to the United States to establish his legacy over 160 years ago; embodying his legendary passion, audacity and free vision. This gem is built on a wealth of reserve wines aged on lees for up to 25 years, and blended with 20% of 2016 vintage. Initial aromas of grapefruit, fresh vineyard peach and apricot, grilled pineapple with layers of toasted and mineral notes. Serve in a wider wine glass to let its freshness and complexity shine, with waves of tangerine, dried fruit, honey and touches of vanilla, caramel and pastry. Sumptuous on the palate – the texture is luxurious and refined yet deliciously mellow. Imagine Amalfi lemons with freshly baked butter biscuits on the balcony off the coast of Positano! It’s fresh, silky yet fleshy and rich. Vibrant and harmonious bubbles with a lingering candied citrus and passionfruit finish. Mis en cave in 2017 and disgorged in late 2021. Only 24 bottles of this sixth edition (previous editions: 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1985) is available for Hong Kong.
Ranked #9 on Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Cellar Selections 2023.

Here's how to interpret the ratings (in case you were wondering what's that number below the price). If you don't see a rating, it doesn't mean the wine is any less yummy. At the end of the day, wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared.
