In a little village of Verdigny, just outside of Sancerre, lies a quaint domaine that’s been dedicated to the art of winemaking since 1670. Domaine de Thomas et Fils is a true family business with Julien as the 13th generation at the helm. A naturopath at heart, Julien’s approach combines his family traditions with their ‘zero chemical’ principles while fostering the land’s unique array of soil types – flint and limestone soils, Kimmeridgian limestone aka ‘terres blanches’ and gravelly slopes rich in clay and limestone known as caillottes. The result is glorious in flavour, texture and length! With partner Justine by his side, Julien channels his efforts to build a more natural path for the future of the Thomas family.
