What began as a grape-growing family became one of the movers and shakers in Morellino di Scansano of Tuscany! The Mantellassi’s established their winery in 1960 with only 4 hectares of vineyards. As time progressed, they ventured to 100 hectares of land, paying tribute to Italian’s beloved grape, Sangiovese, as well as other local varieties such as Canaiolo Nero plus some international grapes. Having played a significant role in establishing the Controlled Designation of Origin of Morellino di Scansano in 1978, Mantellassi Fattoria is now one of the elites in the region! The estate is still run by the family – brothers, Aleardo and Giuseppe.
