Family-run Wild Duck Creek Estate have been crafting head-turning wines in the stunning southern hills of Heathcote, Victoria since 1974. Founded by David "Duck" Anderson at just 21, the estate is all about making wines that are delicious – and fun! Over the last 50 years, David and his son Liam have planted vineyards across the region – two generations, one vision – while gaining a cult following for their unique, powerful wines.
Today, over a dozen sustainably-managed vineyards produce very individual flavours and aromas that enable the crafting of delicious regional blends, and more recently, single vineyard expressions. Heathcote may be lesser known, but it’s terroir offers unique qualties – as a result, Wild Duck Creek Estate offers big wines that are light on their feet, despite having higher alcohol content than those of other regions. The family's winemaking methods, like using whole bunches during fermentation and gentle basket pressing, contribute lovely floral notes and rich texture.
