McLaren Vale, Australia
While Wirra Wirra makes some serious Aussie favourites, it’s also about having fun! When not making wine, the spirited team (aka the Wirra Wirra Tribe) carries out other “tasks”, like ringing their bell-tower or hurling watermelons from their catapult! Located in McLaren Vale, the winery was initially abandoned but resurrected in 1969 by the late Greg Trott and cousin Roger. From then onwards, Wirra Wirra continued to flourish, creating the iconic wine, Church Block. Today, the R.S.W Shiraz is ranked ‘Excellent’ standing on the Langton’s Classification – a top award for Aussie’s most prized wines.
