This 'best of the best' barrel selection of Cabernet Sauvignon is an ode to Bleasdale founder Frank Potts and his trusty muzzle-loader, ‘The Iron Duke’, named for the Duke of Wellington. In 1870s South Australia, Frank led local volunteer troops when the British Empire (quite unfoundedly!) feared invasion from Imperial Russia, and this wine celebrates his leadership with distinct regional character! Charming notes of violets, cedar and cassis on the nose; full-bodied with rich dark fruit flavours, finely-tempered tannins and a lasting finish. Ready to drink now, but will cellar well through 2039 – decant 1-2 hours before enjoying, ideally with Osso Bucco or dry-fried cumin lamb ribs!

Here's how to interpret the ratings (in case you were wondering what's that number below the price). If you don't see a rating, it doesn't mean the wine is any less yummy. At the end of the day, wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared.
