‘Gran Selezione’ is a new designation for the finest expression of Chianti Classico. Carpineto Chianti Classico ‘Gran Selezione’ are made with grapes sourced only from a 2-hectare vineyard in Dudda, Greve – the coolest area in the region. Although not many bottles are produced, these can definitely cellar well as wines from this area offers great structure and concentration, ie. can withstand the test of time! Complex and elegant aromas of wild cherry and black berry with hints of leather, vanilla and spice. Blackcurrant and blueberry flavours initially while stewed plums with baking spice laced with tobacco and licorice evolve over time. Fine tannins and a persistent finish. Did you say Fiorentina T-bone steak? We cannot agree with you more!

Here's how to interpret the ratings (in case you were wondering what's that number below the price). If you don't see a rating, it doesn't mean the wine is any less yummy. At the end of the day, wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared.
