Remarkable, impeccable – that is what Chook Block vineyard is to the Wirra Wirra tribe! Named after late Greg Trott’s original broiler chicken (aka chooks for the Aussies) sheds nearby, Chook Block produces extremely small parcels of perfect high-quality fruit from time to time. Planted in 1960 and nurtured biodynamically, there have been limited vintages (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016-2019), with only 64 dozen produced of this 2021... super rare! Let your senses go wild with its seductive notes of spice charcuterie, chocolate and cassis, layered with concentrated fruit, lush mocha and toned oak adding clove, vanilla pod and agarwood. Balanced and delicious with velvety tannins and a long, fine finish. Give this bottle a half-hour breathing time when you open it, whether that's now or after careful cellaring for up to 25 years. Serve with beef short ribs cooked with lemongrass, tamarind, Shaoxing wine and soy for a show-stopping pairing, or simply with your favourite steak.

Here's how to interpret the ratings (in case you were wondering what's that number below the price). If you don't see a rating, it doesn't mean the wine is any less yummy. At the end of the day, wine is meant to be enjoyed and shared.
