Flavorful and complex, Villa Girardi Bure Alto Ripasso is not one to be missed when going Italian! Ripasso is sometimes known as "baby Amarone", an in-between style of the brooding Amarone and the light Valpolicella. Alluring aromas of dried spice, leather, blackberry and rose with sweet cherry, chocolate and a hint of spice in the mouth. Well-balanced and soft tannins. An excellent choice with hearty stews, like a roasted lamb or beef brisket. Side note: Ripasso literally means "re-pass”, this wine goes through a 2nd ferment with the skins of dried grapes from making Amarone. Delicious!
