Wild Duck Creek Estate Ducks & Drakes delivers a beautiful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, grown in 500 million year-old Cambrian period volcanic soils! Showing classic character of these two varietals in a very “Heathcote” style, this basket-pressed wine has complex aromas of fresh dark and red fruits followed by notes of spice, pastry, crushed rock and tobacco. Wonderfully flavourful with an abundance of earthy fruits, blackberry, mocha, thyme and lovely minerality. Perfect balance and a lengthy finish! This is a wine that will benefit from up to 12+ years of cellaring, but lovely to drink now! Refreshingly light despite the higher alcoholic content – try it with hearty stew, like braised beef brisket with daikon or portobello, potato and lentil.
