Springflat Shiraz is Wild Duck Creek Estate's original flagship wine – a gorgeous blend of grapes from 5 distinct estate owned vineyards (boasting 500 million year-old Cambrian period volcanic soils!). This basked-pressed, unfined and unfiltered wine is intensely aromatic with blue and black fruits, liquorice, nutmeg and tilled earth. Rich yet light on the palate, with pleasant tannins carrying flavours of dark fruit cake, cocoa, sweet spice and a bit of charred meats through a long, nicely textured finish. Intense without being heavy. A delight to drink now, but trust us – cellar at least one bottle for 15+ years! Open it up with lamb rogan josh, or the most gourmet burger you can manage.
